But you should not be worried any more with the following small “trick” I have experienced many times.
I am maintaining more than 10 domains. Naturally, I have to totally pay $ 100 each year but in fact, I have just paid much less than that.
1. Firstly, you should note that sometimes you are not able to get the domain name you really desire. I mean, it is not available due to someone registered it before. Hence, each time you have the chance to get the domain name you want, let buy it immediately without any dilly-dallying feeling. Do not hesitate to get your own brand.
2. Secondly, to get cheap domain, I always take advantage promotional events such as Black Friday, Xmas etc…to buy. More over, as a Godaddy customer, I am now happy with regular promotion they conduct in which you just need spend only $1 to own a domain name. Each time they roll out new campaign, you will have to buy domain as soon as possible since they will only sell 10.000 items.

3. The third, these some seldom promotional campaigns are suitable for you to buy domain but you can ALWAYS buy cheap domain from other registrars with updated coupon code. I still stick to the Godaddy as transferring among different services are risky and time wasting. Time is money too, you could spend that time to write a new article and it would bring you more than a few bucks.
Btw, we can use promotional code for renewing domains in Godaddy, so it often takes me only around $20 for 3 years.

One right thing you have pointed out is that, you can use promotional code to renew domain at Goddady, but they usually reduce not much. I think, this tip will quite useful with either someone have many domains or not have much bucks

Transferring a domain is a lot of work in my opinion. Not worth the hassle if your blog is making enough to cover the domain and hosting cost. Reminds me of my first domain name, which I didn’t pay a single cent for. Joined a forum that offers free domain for “forum points”.
And that’s how I started blogging, making barely enough to cover the cost at first, then more than enough for me to start another blog, and finally I’m living off my blog’s income now.
Yeah Chow. I can let you lost time and effort but still be worth to try in case you have many domains.

You can do the coupon transfer thing as I used to do. Now I just think it is a pain and I instead use a registrar that has good prices all the time – for renewals too. I use Namesilo. There are other good ones out there too.
